Hi, my name is Doruk and I’m a weird designer. I am a communication design graduate and a psychology undergraduate student. I have prepared this blog to present you non-profit projects that I have done completely for my pleasure. You can contact me from the platforms here.

Gibson SG and King

Gibson SG and King

My goal in this design is to bring together two different areas of interest by combining figures from traditional playing cards with musical instruments. One of the key cards in the deck, the “King” card, typically depicts a king holding a sword facing upwards. Instead, I wanted to use an iconic guitar such as the Gibson SG, which has been used by legendary figures in rock music history like Angus Young, Eric Clapton, and Frank Zappa. I aimed to bring these two elements together on a common ground.

The Gibson SG is a solid-body electric guitar model introduced by Gibson in 1961 as the Gibson Les Paul SG. It remains in production today in many variations of the initial design. The SG (where “SG” refers to Solid Guitar) Standard is Gibson’s best-selling model of all time.

Digital Brush Co.

Digital Brush Co. NFT Colleciton

During my student years, I started a project called Digital Brush Co. to compile my digital art works, which has since evolved into a collection using NFT technology.

I wanted to combine my different drawings, reminiscent of the collection cards and stickers that everyone who grew up in the 2000s knows, into two different versions. The regular version and of course, the more valuable and rare holographic version. You can view my collection in detail on OpenSea.

00’s Stuff Mockups

00’s Stuff Mockup

Hello there, it’s as if we both don’t remember that era just like it was yesterday, right? You guessed it correctly – the 2000s! Though when you look back now, it might seem to be lingering in the shadow of the 90s, for me, it holds the most special times. After all, those were the years when I experienced many things for the first time; I was a child, and it was truly wonderful.

Since we never forget our firsts, I wanted my initial mockup design to belong to that period. While rummaging through old stuff, I stumbled upon this cellphone, and I snapped a photo of it. Up until now, due to my work, I’ve utilized many mockups and knew how to use them, but I had no idea about their creation process. So, I kept on with the design, envisioning how the phone should look. After achieving the desired look, I followed the steps I had previously watched to make it editable again. I transformed the layers into smart objects and added the necessary effects for reusability.

Feel free to download the cellphone mockup I’ve prepared. You can place your own design onto the smart object layers inside the PSD file and adjust the colors of the editable layers.

However, this isn’t the only mockup design I have; I’m also engaged in various other projects. Nintendo GAME BOY™ cartridges serve as an example of this.

Don’t hesitate to shuffle the game cartridges! Perhaps there’s a game you’ve been missing among them.
